Badia di Torrechiara (Parma)
Total calm and peace envelop visitors in the monastery of S. Maria della Neve in Torrechiara (province of Parma), where daily life transpires in perfect silence according to the Rule of Saint Benedict. Built in 1471, the abbey boasts a “hut-like” façade decorated with pilasters, blind Lombard bands and interlaced arches. There is a rose window above the Sforza-style portal. The guestrooms in the abbey, which has recently been completely renovated, accommodate up to 25 people.
