First Impressions

From the moment I was first shown the Ford Bronco Wildtrak at Al Tayer Motors showroom –  I knew it was something special and different from all the SUV’s I’d ever test driven before. Its bold, rugged stance and aggressive styling screamed adventure, and I couldn’t wait to take it out of the showroom and push it to its limits.

Sitting inside this Azure Grey tall boy, the first thing I noticed was how high off the ground I felt. The elevated ride height gave me a commanding view of the road (and the trail), which immediately instilled my confidence. The cabin felt solid, well-built, and surprisingly comfortable for such an off-road-focused vehicle. With loads of Soft-touch materials mixed with rugged, durable surfaces—this SUV gave a feeling that it’s ready for anything while still offering some creature comforts.

Technology

The tech was also more modern than I expected. The 12-inch touchscreen is right there in the center, and Ford’s SYNC 4 system is smooth and easy to use. I synced my phone and within seconds, my maps and playlists were right where I wanted them. The Wildtrak trim even comes with extra off-road goodies like trail cameras, which give you a complete view around the vehicle when navigating tricky terrain. It’s like having an extra set of eyes!

On the Road

As soon as I hit the pavement, I could feel the power. Under the hood is a 2.7L EcoBoost V6, which delivers 330 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. And let me tell you, it moves! The acceleration is responsive, and there’s a satisfying growl when you press the gas pedal. It’s not a sports car, but it doesn’t feel sluggish at all. The 10-speed automatic transmission shifts seamlessly, keeping the Bronco smooth and composed at highway speeds.

The Wildtrak also handles surprisingly well for an off-roader. The steering is sharp enough to navigate tight city streets, but there’s still that sense of stability when cruising at higher speeds. Ford has done an impressive job of making a vehicle that’s comfortable in everyday driving while still being capable of handling some serious terrain.

Off-Road Performance

But let’s be real—this beast is meant to be off-road. So, I took it to a nearby trail to see what it could really do. With the flick of a switch, I engaged the G.O.A.T. Modes (Goes Over Any Terrain), which adjusts the settings for whatever environment you’re in. I went with Baja mode to handle the sandy, uneven surfaces.

The Bronco didn’t just handle the trail—it owned it. With 35-inch all-terrain tires and locking differentials, it climbed over rocks, powered through mud, and tackled steep inclines like they were nothing. The suspension absorbed every bump and dip, and the sway bar disconnect feature kept the wheels on the ground even when things got really gnarly. It’s one of those moments where you realize, “Yeah, this thing can go just about anywhere.”

What also surprised me was how much fun it was. It felt nimble, and the Bronco’s shorter wheelbase compared to some other off-roaders made it easier to maneuver through tight spots. On the Bronco Wildtrak you can even choose to take the roof panels off if you choose to. That open-air feeling would certainly add another layer of excitement to the experience.

Interior & Comfort

After four days of adventure across various terrains, I was grateful for the Wildtrak’s comfortable seats. They’re firm but supportive, which is great when you’re bouncing around on a rough trail. The interior is designed to be functional but still pleasant—there are grab handles everywhere, rubberized flooring that’s easy to clean, and drain plugs if you really get into some muddy situations. But it’s not stripped-down; it still has features like heated seats, a banging sound system, and dual-zone climate control.

The cargo space is decent too. I had enough room to throw in my gear for the day, and I can easily see how it could handle camping trips or even a quick run to the grocery.

Final Thoughts

At the end of the day, the Ford Bronco Wildtrak is everything I hoped it would be. It’s rugged, powerful, and capable of taking on serious off-road challenges. But it’s also refined enough to be an everyday driver, with modern tech, solid comfort, and impressive on-road manners.

Whether you’re hitting the trails, heading to the beach, or just cruising through the city, the Bronco Wildtrak feels like it’s up for anything. It’s a head-turner for sure, but more than that, it’s a vehicle that makes you want to keep driving, keep exploring, and keep chasing new adventures.
