October and November is Dubai’s fashion season, with Arab Fashion Week’s kick-off shows and the comeback of Dubai Fashion Forward later in October, will definitely bring plenty of avant-garde looks and couture fashion that most of us can only dream about.
With the recent movement and statements made by big fashion houses in New York, Paris and Milan in supporting ethical fashion, Dubai is still adapting and transitioning to become more conscious in consuming sustainable fashion.

There are many different ways to achieve it. Using natural materials, such as organic, pesticide-free, cotton, linen, hemp, etc. or through sustainable practices that reduce water or energy consumption and minimizes waste production, such as slow fashion.
As consumers, we also need to consider that how we treat our clothes have a direct impact on the environment. For example, wash only when needed, try to use cold water if possible and donate instead of just toss the clothes to the bin.
While ethical fashion may not solve all of our problems with unsafe chemicals, water shortages, energy consumption, or overflowing landfills, it allows you to reduce your impact on the environment and invest in a safer, more sustainable future.

From Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, Goshopia will be part of Fashion Forward Dubai’s The Green Room: a sustainable and ethical fashion pop up, an initiative which includes pop up, talks, workshops, styling sessions and panel discussions aimed at promoting sustainable and ethical practices in the fashion industry.
